The Byron Varsity Football team hosted GAC Blue opponent Bendle for Homecoming on Friday night. It was a wet and soggy homecoming night but the weather did not seem to slow down the Byron offense who jumped out to an early 12-0 lead before pulling away and winning 37-0. The Eagles are now 4-2 on the season and head to Durand to take on the 4-2 Railroaders this Friday.

The wet conditions forced the Eagles to run the ball where they thrived as a team racking up 321 yards rushing on 46 carries as a team. Leading the team was Junior Connor Raymond who had another great game rushing for 186 yards on 16 carries averaging 11.6 yards a carry and scoring 2 touchdowns. Senior Payne Staton added 53 yards on 8 carries and 2 touchdowns and went 3 for 7 with one touchdown and one interception threw the air. Juniors Justin Musson and Cody Rickman each had 3 carries for 18 yards.

The Eagle defense was once again potent only giving up only 71 total yards to Bendle. Sophomore Jerry Hall led the team in total tackles with 6. Seniors John Helms, Keiffer Kennedy and Darnell Adams each had 3 tackles a piece.
