Boys Varsity Golf @ MHSAA Regionals

The Boys Varsity Golf team competed at the MHSAA Regionals on Wednesday may 31st at Glenbrier Golf Course in Perry. Brandt Nelson earned individual medalist honors fining a 4-over 76. Brandt will advance to the MHSAA Division 3 State Finals next week at Ferris State on June 9th & 10th. Overall the boys finished in 14th place today out of 17 teams. Jon Lang shot 111, Thad Coad posted a personal best 112, Cameron Pehrson added 119, and Jacob Davies shot 124.

The Byron Boys Varsity golf team finished their regular seasons schedule on Wednesday May 17 at Hunter’s Ridge. The Eagles finished in third place on the day with a team score of 198 behind Lake Fenton’s 170 and New Lothrop’s 186. Brandt Nelson earned top medalist honors with a score of 38, Jon Lang shot 48, Jacob Davies added a 54 and Cameron Pehrson shot a 58. The Eagles finish the season with a record of 4-10 and host the GAC Postseason Tournament on Tuesday May 23 at Hunter’s Ridge.

The Byron Boys Varsity Golf team traveled to Atlas Valley CC on Monday May 15 to take on Goodrich at Webberville. The Eagles earned a split losing to Goodrich 176-219 and beating Webberville 219-230. Brandt Nelson earned medalist honors shooting 40, Jon Lang and Cameron Pehrson posted a pair of 57's and Thad Coad shot 65. Their overall record is now 4-8.

The Byron Boys Varsity Golf team hosted Corunna and Mt. Morris for a GAC tri match at Hunter’s Ridge Golf Course. The Eagles took 2nd place firing their lowest score of the season (180) behind Corunna’s 177 and Mt. Morris’s 192. Brandt Nelson earned medalist honors posting a 39, Jon Lang fired a career low 45, Jacob Davies posted a career low 48, and Darren Matuscak added a 48. The Eagles are now 3-7 on the season.

The Byron Boys Varsity Golf team competed in the GAC Pre/Mid-season Tournament held at Fenton Farms on Tuesday April 25. Brandt Nelson earned top overall medalist honors once again firing a round 7-over round of 79. Jacob Davies and Jon Lang each posted a personal best shooting 105 and 108 respectively. Darren Matuscak shot a 117, Cameron Pehrson shot a 124 and Thad Coad shot a 126. We finished 7 out 9 teams overall with a team score of 409 which is also a season best for 18 holes.

The Byron Boys Varsity Golf team competed in the Marauder Invite held at The Emerald Golf Course on Saturday April 22. Brandt Nelson once again earned top individual medalist honors with an even par round of 72. Darren Matuscak shot a 109, Jacob Davies shot a 122, Jon Lang shot a 127 and Thad Coad shot a 132.

The Boys Varsity Golf team traveled to Twin Brooks Golf Course for a GAC matchup with New Lothrop and Montrose. The Eagles came in second with a team score of 194 behind New Lothrop’s 174 and Montrose’s 206.
Brandt Nelson earned top medalist honors shooting a 39 to help led the Eagles to their first win of the season over Montrose. Darren Matuscak shot a career best 47, Jon Lang shot a 53 and Jacob Davies shot a 55.

The Byron Varsity Golf team traveled to Vienna Greens to take on Mt. Morris and Corunna on Wednesday April 12. The course was extremely soggy due to the rain over the weekend but our team played well overall coming in with an overall team score of 206 behind Corunna’s 173 and Mt. Morris’s 198. Brandt Nelson earned medalist honors shooting 40, Jacob Davies fired a career low 54, Cameron Pehrson posted a career low 56, and Jon Lang added a 56.
