Girls Junior Varsity Basketball vs. Corunna High School

The Byron JV Girls Basketball team lost to the Corunna Cavaliers Tuesday night by a score of 68-55. The Eagles got within four points early in the 4th quarter before the Cavaliers pulled away. Abby Glass scored 25 points for the Eagles while Alexis Ragnone chipped in 12 points and Lauren Viele added 8 points.

The Byron JV Girls Basketball team lost a tough game against Notre Dame Prep 43-39 on Monday February 13th. The Eagles entered the 3rd quarter down by 7 points and were only down by 3 points with 2 minutes to go in the game but could not get any closer. The team was led offensively by Abby Glass who had 13 points, Alexis DeHart chipped in 9 points, and Alexis Ragnone added 8 points.

Win: 42 - 15
The Byron JV Girls Basketball team had a convincing win over Webberville on Thursday February 9th. The Eagles cruised out to a 30-5 halftime lead thanks to some great team defense in route to a 42-15 victory. Nine Eagles scored in the contest with Abby Glass (12 points), Alexis DeHart (9 points), and Rebekah Cornell (5 points) leading the way. The win improves their record to 12-3 on the season.

Win: 48 - 46
The Byron JV Girls Basketball team battled through a very rough game last night to defeat New Lothrop 48-46. The Eagles made some key free throws in the last 2 minutes of the game to hold on for the victory. Alexis DeHart scored a season high 22 points while Caitlin Sprague and Lauren Viele each chipped in 6 points apiece.    The Eagles move to 11-3 on the season and will be back in action Thursday night at home taking on Webberville.

Lose: 41 - 49
The Byron JV Girls Basketball team lost to the Perry Ramblers last night 49-41. The Eagles held the lead through the 3rd quarter but the Ramblers pulled away late in the game. Abby Glass led the offensive attack with 21 points while Alexis DeHart added 10 points and Alexis Ragnone added 9 points.   The Eagles are now 10-3 on the season and will be back in action Wednesday night at home against New Lothrop.

Win: 37 - 30
The Byron JV Girls Basketball team avenged an earlier loss to Durand by beating the Railroaders on their home court 37-30. The Eagles used some tough team defense down the stretch and made some key free throws to seal the win. Alexis Ragone scored 16 points, Alexis DeHart scored 13 points and Lauren Viele added 5 points and grabbed some key rebounds late in the game.   The Eagles improve to 10-2 on the season. They will be back in action next Tuesday 2/7 against Perry at home.

Win: 38 - 32
The Byron JV girls Basketball team beat Fenton 38-32 on Tuesday Night. Fenton controlled the offensive boards in the first half to keep the game close, but the Eagles battled back to keep the Tigers off the boards in the second half.   Offensively the Eagles used some strong ball handling and quick passes to keep the Tigers defense off balance. Alexis Ragnone led the scoring attack with 15 points and Alexis DeHart added 9 points.    The JV improves to 8-2 on the season. Their next game will be Monday (1/ 30) at Dansville.

Win: 36 - 27
The Byron JV Girls Basketball team improved to 7-2 as they defeated Morrice by a score of 36-27.  It was a back and forth battle with the Eagles finally pulling away at the end. The Eagles were led offensively by Alexis DeHart (13 pts), Alexis Ragnone (9 pts), and Lauren Viele (6 pts). Olivia Krejci and Rebekah Cornell each added 4 points as well.

The Byron JV Girls Basketball team defeated the Webberville Spartans by a score of 48-21 Wednesday night. The Eagles used a tough full-court press to break the game open and never looked back. Seven different players scored to help the offensive attack. Abby Glass scored 18 points, Lauren Viele added 10 points and Caitlin Sprague added 8 points. The Eagles improved to 6-2 on the season.

The Byron JV Girls Basketball team defeated Bendle 45-25 to improve to 5-2 on the season. The Eagles once again used their tough defense to help create turnovers and easy scores at the other end.  Abby Glass led team with 19 points for the Eagles, Alexis Ragnone chipped in 10 points, Lauren Viele had 7 points and Rebekah Cornell added 5 points.

The Byron JV Girls Basketball team squeaked out a 26-23 victory over Montrose at home Monday night. The Eagles (4-2) kept fighting after trailing most of the game to take the lead late in the 4th quarter. Once again it was their tough defense that sparked the comeback. Offensively the Eagles were led by Abby Glass who scored 19 points.

The Byron JV Girls Basketball team hosted New Lothrop for a non-conference match-up on Tuesday Night. The Lady Eagles fought back from an early 12-1 deficit to defeat the Hornets by a score of 42-36. The girls played great team basketball and were tough on defense preventing New Lothrop from taking easy shots.   Haley Hooley led the team scoring 22 points and recording 10 rebounds, Abby Glass added 13 points and 13 rebounds, and Lauren Viele chipped in 7 points.   The JV girls move to 3-2 on the season and host Montrose on Thursday night.

The Byron JV Girls Basketball team defeated Flushing by a score of 44-14 Thursday evening. The Eagles played some tough team defense holding Flushing to 7 points over the last 3 quarters. Offensively the Lady Eagles shared the ball and made the extra pass as 8 different players scored. Haley Hooley scored 19, making 10 out of her 11 free throws. Lauren Viele chipped in 9 points and Abby Glass added 5 points to go along with 7 rebounds and 5 assists.
Girls Junior Varsity Basketball vs. Durand High School

Lose: 27 - 38
The Byron JV Girls Basketball team lost a tough game against rival Durand Tuesday night 38-27. Trailing by ten points at halftime, the girls fought back to tie the game 27-27 late in the 4th quarter. The Eagles played hard until the end but could not stop the potent Durand offense. Haley Hooley led the Eagles in scoring with 16 points and Abby Glass chipped in 7.   The Eagles (1-2) will be back in action on Thursday night against Flushing.  Tip-off is set for 5:30 in the Elementary gym.

The Byron JV Girls Basketball team lost to Brandon on Friday night 38-29. The girls fought hard to the final buzzer but could not find the answer against a tough Brandon team. Haley Hooley led the Eagles in scoring with 13 points and Abby Glass added 7.

Win: 55 - 6
The Byron JV Girls Basketball team started their season out with a decisive 55-6 win over LakeVille. Thanks to some great team defense and unselfish passing the girls busted out to a 28-0 lead and never looked back. The Eagles scoring attack was led by Alexis Ragnone who had 14 points. Abby Glass chipped in 13 and had 5 assists and Haley Hooley led the team with 6 rebounds.
